How Cues Lab works
You save dozens of AI tip videos and never use them. Cues Lab reads the video and hands you the exact prompt, the tools, and the steps β in seconds.
Three ways to feed it a video
Paste a link
Drop a YouTube, Shorts, or TikTok URL. We fetch the title and caption, transcribe the audio, and read the on-screen text from the video frames.
Works best on YouTube / Shorts. Instagram and some TikToks require a login β if a link is blocked, upload the file or paste the caption instead.
Upload the video
The most reliable option. We read every on-screen frame (even a prompt flashed for a split second) and transcribe the spoken audio. Files up to 100 MB.
Nothing to log into, nothing to get blocked β this path always works.
Paste caption or screenshot
Already have the caption or transcript? Paste it. Or drop a screenshot of the reel and we read the text right in your browser.
Great when you only have a screenshot saved to your camera roll.
What happens under the hood
Read everything
We combine three sources: the spoken audio (transcribed with Whisper), the on-screen text (sampled at every scene change and run through OCR), and the title/caption.
Find the real prompt
We pull out the exact prompt the video shows β word for word β even if it only flashes on screen for a fraction of a second, and make it one-click copyable.
Figure out what kind of video it is
Copy-paste prompt, step-by-step guide, tool setup, or workflow β Cues Lab labels it so you know whether to copy a prompt or follow the steps.
Improve it
Alongside the original, we write a cleaner, more detailed version of the prompt that tends to get better results.
Pull out tools & downloads
If the video names a tool or shows a real link (a GitHub repo, a template, an app), we list it under Tools and Things to download β only links that actually appear, never invented ones.
Build the steps
We turn it into a numbered, do-it-yourself walkthrough so you can act on it immediately.
Everything is grounded in what's actually in the video β Cues Lab won't invent links or steps that weren't there.

Tips for the best results
- βUploading the file gives the most complete result β it captures both the audio and any prompt flashed on screen.
- βIf a link won't load, it's usually login-gated (common on Instagram). Upload the clip or paste the caption.
- βSwitch between βpromptβ and βstepsβ mode depending on whether you want the prompt or the walkthrough emphasized.
- βFound a great one? Export it to Markdown so it lives in your notes forever.
